Basically the centrifugal switch is mainly use in single phase ac motor because in single phase motor stater winding consist of two type of winding 1. main winding 2. auxiliary winding (starting winding). This two winding is displace by 90 degree to produce rotating magnetic field in single phase motor.
After the motor when achieve the 70 to 80% of its total speed then the centrifugal switch is open & disconnect the starting winding Then the motor fully rotate on main winding.
The centrifugal switch is mounted on motor shaft. Its also called as cluch plate in practical use.
