Pole in Induction motor? Do you know how to find it?

It is easy to find the pole in DC motor simply motor construction, but in case of induction motor can’t find the pole on its motor construction.

 In DC motor the pole is use to give the support to the field winding. In case of induction motor is use to specify the synchronous speed of the motor. The pole is always in even numbers e.g. 2, 4, 6, 8, 10.

Pole in Induction Motor: Pole is number of coil in one set of winding which place on the stater winding.

   N_s = 120 x f/P,

Where, N_s = synchronous speed

            120= phase shift of the three phase supply

            F = standard frequency 50 HZ.
